Living in Chaos

This is what my front room looks like at the moment.  Isn't it lovely?  We are finally finishing off what we call the laundry room.  It is supposed to be the master bedroom, but we've chosen to have a family closet instead. So for the moment, this is where all the clothes are except mine. My clothes are still back in the closet, but we'll be moving them and all the rest of the things in that closet out tonight.
The boxes are apples.  We eat LOADS of them.  I think we got 5 or 6 cases this last week. Hopefully these will last us at least a month- maybe a month and a half, if we're lucky. Don't the Halloween decorations  hanging from the ceiling add to ambiance of the room?
This is the "laundry room".  For long time readers you may remember this as the room that became uninhabitable shortly after we moved in.  We had to cut out a portion of the wall and ceiling - studs and all -  from the closet so that we could get rid of all the water damaged wood and sheet rock. This was the post I wrote back then.
Then we discovered we had a leak in the bathroom as well.  Until we were positive that there would no longer be any leaking, we decided not to sheet rock it.  Well, after the flowing hose test, we surmised that there was no longer any leaking!  It's finally time to say goodbye to the pink insulation in the ceiling...I know our guests will miss seeing it.  It's also time to say goodbye to the blue sea tinfoil wall paper.

This is the same area as the pink insulation shown in the pic below.  Wasn't the curtain on the bathtub something else?  It almost makes me feel bad to have taken it all down!

I'm excited for the prospect of actually organizing the room once all the work is done. Because so many parts of the home needed work right after we moved in, I've never quite felt "settled".  Sad that we've been here almost 4 years!  Things are slowly getting completed!
