Antigone

So the play is over and what an adventure it was! It was the first "real" production that I'd ever been in. Going through auditions I thought I was going to be sick, I was so nervous! I was so happy that I got a part and even the part that I wanted! I played Ismene, Antigone's sister. If you'd like to read a short synopsis of this classic Greek tragedy written by Sophocles click here. It was an amazing experience to be with the cast, tech crew, director, and see the costumes, masks, and set being created.

I also want to thank my sweet hubby for allowing me the time away from family and cares to devote to this experience. One night he even got to step into a role himself! He played the guard that takes me away with Antigone to be tied up. He was supposed to give me a shove as we go out -he really got into the part! He not only shoved me, but stepped on my train and slapped away the hands of my sorrowing attendants. Yeesh! I'm glad he only was a guard for the one night! The director was teasing him at the end, reminding him, "SHE'S PREGNANT! You don't have to make it THAT realistic!"

Special Offer from The School of Natural Healing

I've been pretty busy lately and I've received questions via email and in the comment sections of my posts. People have been asking where I learned about herbs and natural healing.

It all started almost 2 years ago when I came upon a class that was offered online through the School of Natural Healing. It is based in Springville, UT and was founded by Dr. John R. Christopher. I had read about him and was familiar with several of his ideas about healthy eating and the Word of Wisdom, (a Mormon Doctrine that he believed supported the way to healthy living). He died in the 1980's, but his legacy lives on in his school and his amazing herbal formulas. The first class offered is called the Family Herbalist Course and is completely available online, meaning all textbooks, videos, quizzes and audio files are available online and all assignments are sent via the internet.

You are allowed 3 months and even with homeschooling and 5 children to look after I didn't have a problem finishing the class in this amount of time. I absolutely LOVED what I was learning and started putting what I was learning to use. I enjoyed the first class so much, I immediately signed up for the following 4 classes. After I finished those 5 classes, I received certification and became a Nutritional Herbologist.

In the meantime, I had attended a conference in Salt Lake City for the School of Natural Healing and attended a class taught by Dr. Pesek. He is an Iridologist/Psychologist/Nutritionist who teaches the classes in Holistic Iridology that are offered through the School of Natural Healing. I was so intrigued by his seminar that I signed up for the first 2 levels. Through his classes, I have truly come to believe that when we suppress and ignore our emotional and mental thoughts and feelings, our bodies become an avenue through which they are shown. I now believe that most issues and problems that are manifest in our bodies are symptoms of suppressing our thoughts and emotions. As I have explored Dr. Pesek's theories and put them to the test, I have found that as I have been willing to face my emotional and mental weaknesses (that I never wanted to admit to myself that I had, nor had the courage to face them) my body has healed, and not only my physical, but my mental, spiritual, and emotional states have vastly improved.

So why am I sharing all of this? The School of Natural Healing is offering a special right now and it is only offered until Dec. 20th. If you sign up for any of the Master Herbalist classes (the beginning one is the Family Herbalist class I mentioned) then you receive the second class free. You can sign up for this class through the School of Natural Healing link at the top right of my blog (under the picture of my kids). If you use my link you get an extra $100 off the normal price for the Family Herbalist course (normal cost is $295 for the online course).

There is also another special with the Holistic Iridology courses, but you have to go the School's website for that. It entails signing up for the 2 levels of Iridology (and prerequisite classes), then receiving the Reflexology courses for free.

So if your desire is to learn more about how to naturally treat yourself and your family, here is the way I have done it :-) When I look back at what our lives were like before I learned these theories and practices, I am amazed at the changes that have taken place and the astounding benefits we have enjoyed by starting on this journey.
