Simple Recipe for a Great Stain Remover - 611

I just had to share this recipe for a pre-treatment soap for stains. My mom gave me some last summer and I had since run out. I just made some, and I had forgotten how much I love it!

I make no assertions as to whether it's "green friendly" or not. I just know that it really works on taking out stains in clothes :-)

6 parts water
1 part ammonia
1 part Blue Dawn dishsoap

That's it! Just mix it up, put it in a spray bottle and get rid of stains! My mom called it 611 so that it's easier to remember the parts.

Yes- I do need to make some of that. It seems like stains get put at the bottom of the priority list and by the end of a season my kids are looking a little homeless.

Do you have to use this immediately or can you just use it right before you throw the clothes (that have been sitting in the hamper for a week) in the wash? I didn't write this down when you posted it and completely forgot about it!

I use it right before i put it in the wash. If it goes through the wash and doesn't come out, I apply it again and scrub it with my nails and usually it will come out the second time. If not, then I use the Fels Naptha bar and scrub it by hand and if that doesn't work, I quit :-)
