Two days after we got back from our trip to Florida, we noticed some spots on Willsie...the chicken pox had come to visit!Willsie didn't seem to mind this sickness at all and business was pretty much as usual. Then Mimi started to get them...She was not happy for a half a day, but then she didn't seem to mind them either. She was most disappointed that she was not able to go to preschool.
They played around as usual. We wanted to make sure to get good pictures, we thought Mimi's face was pretty covered. We thought differently later on.
We had planned to go the following weekend to Seattle (Easter Weekend) to see Kent's Grandpa, he was not doing well and we wanted to say our goodbyes. After some consideration, we thought it best to postpone for a week. Sadly, we did not get the chance to say goodbye, our dear Papa passed away the following Thursday. We were sorry to have missed seeing him. He was a great and kind man and we will miss him dearly...
So we were still making the trip out, but for a funeral instead. Mimi and Willsie were well on their way to recovery, but Abby started to show signs of coming down with the pox on the following Tues. or Wed. She was not very pleased and suffered because some of her chicken pox were in her throat. She was determined to sing at Papa's funeral with the other great-grandchildren though. She loved her Papa and I'm glad she was able to say goodbye to him.Caleb started to show signs as well and we thought he won out with so many pox! He loved that I nick-named him Poxy-Loxy. He woke up the morning of the funeral and I knew that he was not feeling well enough to go, so he went back to sleep and I stayed with him while the other children went with Kent. Caleb and I were able to spend some special one on one time though and went on a magical quest for Camelot while we waited for everyone else to return.
Josh was our last hold out, and we had supposed that the few pox were all he would get. On Friday morning, we woke up to find him overtaken! He was covered pretty well! Holy Cow! I still can't believe how many spots he had.
So all five kids had the pox and we are glad to be done with them! I would have liked to have been able to read the thoughts of the people we saw on our trip home from Seattle. People already stare when you bring in a whole troop of kids to use the bathroom. But when they look like this? What must they have been thinking?
We were able to see Grammy for a short time right before we left for our trip back home. The kids got lots of gumballs and loved getting to see Grammy for a bit.We didn't take a whole bunch of pictures while we were in Seattle. Abby and I made a day trip to DuPont to see a few of our dear friends. Other than that, we mostly stayed at home with the pox and the kids were lucky enough to have cousins come play with them a few times. This last pic was taken right after the funeral on the temple grounds. Mimi and Willsie were the only ones that felt like getting out . We were so happy to see spring! At the time, Montana was still in winter phase (HA - it still is! It snowed today!)
I love this picture. I love my kids and my sweet husband. I'm so thankful for the knowledge that I have - that I can be with them forever. Death will never separate us - as long as we are faithful. I'm so grateful to God that I can be their mother. There are a lot of days that I don't feel like I'll ever measure up, and that's when I have to have the faith that God and Christ will make up the difference. May you all the Moms out there have a great Mother's Day!

Holy Cow, I can't believe that all the kids got hit with the chicken pox pretty much at the same time. Well, at least now they have all had them. Glad that they are doing better.
Thanks from a mom to a mom, Hope you have a good day too! THANKS FOR POSTING THE PICS!
