Florida!

Grandma was kind enough to watch all 5 kids so that Kent and I could go on a vacation to Tampa. He had a conference that was all expense paid, so all we had to purchase was my ticket. How could we pass that up? I spent the days sleeping, studying, and just doing whatever I wanted! It was fantastic. The weather was warm and when Kent was finished we took the trolley to a historical part of Tampa called Ybor City. We had a scrumptious meal at a place called Gaspar's Grotto and Kent teased me about how much I loved eating this sandwich so he snapped this pic. The restaurant was given an award for the best Cuban sandwich for 2009. It was delicious! We had also never had boiled Cajun peanuts. They are really different, but both of us thought they were tasty.
That same night we went to see Avatar in 3-D. We knew we had to take the chance while we could since we only have the one theater back in Havre with no 3-D. We really enjoyed it! Are we the last ones on the planet to see it? After we got out of the movie it was dark, the trolley was no longer running and it was POURING! We didn't have a horribly long way to walk, so we started out running and we were soaked by the time we got back. Luckily, it was a warm rain and not cold at all. I'll probably look back on this as my best memory of the whole trip. We were laughing our heads off as we ran hand in hand. The last night we were there, we realized that we had not even taken a picture of ourselves together. This was taken out on the balcony over the city.
This is a view from the top floor of our hotel. Kent and I noticed again, how much we miss the sights, sounds, and smells of the ocean. I also miss the seafood! I can tell you that I ate a lot of seafood and sushi while I was in Tampa. Blessed be the day when one can get sushi in Havre.
